great week

No body can say i have had a slack week, started on sunday with 2 phone calls for fathers day from my two favourite girls, great to hear from them, made my day.
I managed to get out on the trail bike 3 times and found some new riding areas.I found a couple of steep, slippery bits that scared me!,good for the heart and a great feeling when you make the top without injury!
Diane has also enjoyed her week, her and leanne and Julia went fishing on the rocks and also went out 2 days in a row kayaking.
Last night steve and sally and us put the longline out but had no luck, all part of the adventure!

something else to lust after

Notice the headline? i said "something" else not "someone" else. it seems i have to add yet another toy to my wish list, Colnago have just released the latest model and of course i want one, I would like a red one if anyone feels generous.

another tough day

after my trail ride yesterday decided the only decent thing to do was to go for a blast on the mountain bike. went up a road that was used in the early days of the goldrush in the coromandel.
nowadays it's a pine forest but apparently at one stage in the late 1800's there was 1500 men living along a 10 kilometre stretch of valley!

My mate Glen rang me this morning, always good to talk to him cause we always end up laughing!
nothing wrong with that as the rest of my day goes well after a catch up with "mario"
Decided to go for a blast on the trailbike this arvo, why not?

playing the waiting game

Took the car into the holden dealers in thames, had a little orange annoying light on the dash,"piece of cake" says the service manager, well if it was a piece of cake who put it there?
Turns out it was a slit pipe that picked up fuel flow so wasn't working too well, never mind it's only money!
While i was killing time we went into town,it didn't take me long to get sick of going into shops so amused myself with looking to see how many cars had expired registrations.
In one section of road i counted 9 cars,6 of them had no reg! Absouletly gaurantee that if one of them was mine a bllody parking warden would have come along and smacked a ticket on the screen!
No bloody justice in this world!

getting lots done

Had a fairly productive morning so far, been for a ride a then managed to do a few repairs around the place, mainly lubricating doors, hinges, padlocks etc. the salty atmosphere gets into anything metallic and rusts real fast.
I've been selling a bit of junk on trademe lately,it's amazing what some people will pay for something that i would normally have thrown out!

where has the year gone?

August 09!
yikes! where has the year gone! just looked in here and see it was december since my last entry.
Had a great xmas, nice and busy!
We went to Fiji again in march and had a bloody awesome time. the weather was superb and the staff brilliant,we sure love fiji.
Check out my www.webshots.com site for pics. search divaferg.
The highlight for me this year and indeed for my life was my trip to france to watch the Tour De France.Words cannot describe the thrill it was for me.you can see pictures of that here .http://www.flickr.com/photos/whangapouastore/
In June we went up to spend a week with Michele and Graeme at their farm, while we were there we went to have a look at their section that will one day soon house the beach bach, great spot.
At Michele's we did a lot of trail riding,Diane had a ball and managed to get thru the week without major damage!
Winter has been very quiet this year, blame that on the newspapers and talk of recession.
We are counting down the days untill our trip to Vanuatu.Kevin and leslie are travelling with us and we are all soooo looking forward to it.
