what have we been doing?

So much has happened in the last few weeks. first,while diane was visiting her mum i went for a ride up castle rock and as i was going down a steep section i arsed off!
I landed on my left wrist and did some good damage!.My arm has been in plaster ever since.....
Thats all i need at this time of the year. we have been flat out in the shop stocking up for xmas,we are running out of space already.

catch up

Diane spent a few days in gisborne visiting her mum and tash.
I went on a trail ride in Paeroa on sunday,Diane went fishing last night and caught nuffink!

FISHING

Julia and Diane decided to go out for a fish on tuesday arvo,they got some nice snapper to 11ib,then decided to come home,the motor packed up so they called out whangapoua rescue(me and joe)we towed them into the beach and left them to it. then they got the trailerstuck,and swamped the boat!

chopper ride

On tuesday evening we got to have a scenic tour in a helicopter,what a buzz! we went out to cuvier then around the mercs then over the coast along black jacks/opito bay.
great weather made it even more special.pics to follow.

trail ride

On saturday 25 of us left colville and spent 4 hours riding around.over and thru some rugged,beautiful coromandel countryside.
pretty sore for a few days after but good fun.

catch up

been a busy few weeks starting with the school holidays,glad thats over!went for a ride over
to see the blanks on tuesday night,went on the beemer.great to be riding on a warm afternoon.
went to eggcentric for tea,had an awesome steak.ended up with kev and leslie last night at dino's for pizza!.
Going for a big trailbike adventure this weekend around the top of the coromandel.will post some pics next week.

went to the mount on tuesday to pick up 2 trail bikes,mines a yamaha tt 230 and diane has a tt 125,we went for a blat in the forest and had a ball.Diane had a tumble but wasn't hurt.
Of course she had ato have a new motox helmet,a pink one!

great week

spring has sprung!been a great week here for both the weather and fishing.
someone(tony from tauranga) caught a 28lber off the rocks!.
Went for a blast on the beemer on wednesday,great to be out on a warm afternoon.
Had my first puncture in 4 years today!.had to walk down whangapoua hill!it's harder than riding up it.

lollie time

Diane was in her eliment today packing the shelves with lollies for the summer season.
school holidays next week(oh joy)
Rode Chiara (my new bike) for the first time yesterday,bloody awesome,we will have hours of fun together.
Diane is waiting to here from the specialist about her hernia.

My new baby

Finally finished my new bike,It's a Colnago clx,i've built it using 2009 Campagnolo components.haven't ridden it yet,hopefully later on today.

great weather at the moment so went out after work.Diane landed a beauty.came home with plenty of fish.

Been Slack

I know but sometimes the days just slide by! Where to sart?. Reef had his operation last week and by all accounts is doing very well.We went to hamilton to lend our support to Sara and Pete.
Kevin is finally at home and has NO more tubes hanging out of him which is great news.
Spent a fair bit of time over the last week getting the boat ready for scallop season,all i need is the weather to come right and im into it.
Steve and Sally flew out to the US of A today for 12 weeks so Di will have noone to visit for a while.

My New Spinergy wheels arrived today but no sign of the frame yet.
We are meeting up with kevin and leslie tomorrow to go and see Mama Mia(the movie)
and on friday we are in Hamilton for a doctors appointment .whew!

the Kevin update

Almost forgot me old mate Kev. well all the time off that he had gave him new ways to slack arse off and keep away from work.he has gone and got another infection so he's having another operation today, so best of luck old fella,get well soon.

Wild Weather

Well it goes on and on! we had a rough weekend with strong winds and rain,lost power for 12 hours on sunday. last night it rained non-stop. we have had lot's of flooding and as i write this we are totally blocked in with slips.
The beach has had major erosion.the stick showing in that photo is what is left of someones steps!

School Holidays

Just finished the school hols,very quiet this year,due to the high fuel prices i guess.
we had a visit from Sara and her children. great to see them again.the girls loved it in the spa.
Our newest grandchild Reef is doing well.We had fun making him smile.
Only 2 weeks to go before we are of to Rarotonga! yeehaa.

Tour time

Well it's that time of the year again when my life revolves around the tv. 3 weeks of long nights watching the tour!
Kevin is progressing well, hopefully home at ferry landing next week,
Only 4 weeks to go untill we are off to Rarotonga yeehaa!
Work is progressing well on My Colnago project,just waiting on a gear part to allow me to mount the gear levers then she will be finished.

fresh fish

Was out looking at the sea this afternoon and noticed some small fish flapping in the shallows, went and got Diane and in a flash her and Sally were down there with their rods,
They caught 3 huge kahawai and had a ball,

pain is temporary

At least thats what we kept telling Pete on saturday when we took him for a ride over what we call the migraine. It climbs to 388metres in 5km! Pete (Pedro Del Darko) did very well and seemed to enjoy it.

The sick list

Well we have Diane home safely but the captain is not doing too well, has had another operation on thursday to scrape the infection away from the bone. had a blood transfusion on saturday and now is having another op on monday afternoon! ,poor bugger!
My thoughts are with him and leslie, let's hope he gets back on track real soon.

all good(well nearly)

Well Diane had her operation on tuesday and it went well. she has recovered well and will be home friday.
Kevin has not faired too well. he has got himself an infection so will have to behave himself for a bit longer.
Finally got new tyres on the bike so now i feel saFE AGAIN.

Kevin update 2

Just got off the phone with kevin and great news!, he's up and about and feeling much better!. Says he may be home on monday.

Update on Kev

Me mate Kevin underwent major bypass surgery on tuesday so we went to hamilton as support team. things went well for the big fella and he is on the way to health again.
When i go to hamilton next wednesday i will be able to catch up with him for a progress report.

Quiet week, Diane went to hamilton on tuesday for the camera down the throat trick, everything looks ok there so full steam ahead for her op on june 3rd.
Diane got to meet our new wee man while she was there, i've yet to see him.

Went to whiti last night for dinner with Kevin and Leslie, Kev is off to hamilton for his own op on tuesday so fingers crossed for him too.

Rode up whangapoua (360metres) hill today, kept my heartrate at 174bpm which is pretty good for me!
Di is off to hamilton on thursday to have a camera down her throat. hopefully it's all good news.

Rocket Man

We went to auks to see Elton, what a great show, this marks the 4th time i have seen him in concert and i was not dissapointed.
He played heaps of my favourites including,saturday nights alright for fighting,tiny dancer, levon and Tasha's song (the bitch is back) !
Did a bit of shopping and was served by Carson from queer eye for the straight guy!.

down time

well things have certainly gone quiet around here , but that gives me more time to ride my bike!I've just finished building up this bike..
It's a mix of road and mountain bike so can pretty much ride it anywhere around here.

Diane is busy doing her quilts and now that she has her new quilting machine i have hardly seen her!.

A date finally!

we have finally recieved a date for dianes op. june 3 so hopefully this will be the end of the old girls problems.
As we shut early on wednesdays and it was such a nice day we decided to go for a blast on the bike. went around to ferry landing to see leslie.great day for a ride but got cold on the way home.
